As a distributor of Stashed’s SpaceRail, we are proud of the innovative solutions this system offers. One of these solutions is the LaunchPad, designed by Stashed as an additional protective layer for bikes during storage and movement — suitable for home use as well as in bike shops, workshops, or storage facilities.
The SpaceRail allows multiple bikes to be moved smoothly, making it efficient and space-saving. However, there were clear requests for extra protection. In response, Stashed developed the LaunchPad alongside the Pedal Pads to provide an additional solution.
Development and testing by Stashed
Stashed has conducted extensive testing with all types of bikes: road bikes, mountain bikes, full-suspension bikes, hardtails, and models with wide handlebars or long derailleurs. These tests showed that movement is essential for the SpaceRail’s ease of use, but that an additional protective layer was desirable to cushion sensitive components.
The design of the LaunchPad
Stashed tested various materials and designs. Ultimately, 3 mm foam proved ideal: it cushions contact points without being bulky. The exterior is made from durable, smooth laminated fabric that is easy to clean.
Thanks to an adjustable height buckle, the LaunchPad fits any type of bike, from narrow road frames to wide enduro bikes. A reinforced panel at the top keeps the pad straight and tidy, maintaining a neat appearance in the bike space.
Automatic protection
An important design goal for Stashed was that protection should require no action from the user. That’s why the LaunchPad is integrated into a slider that runs inside the SpaceRail. The pad moves automatically with the bike, whether bikes are pushed closer together or spaced further apart.
You move your bikes — the LaunchPad moves automatically with them.
